I'm totally aware that running tails in a VM is a shit idea and should be avoided, I just like poking around at it and don't want to have to shutdown Windows to do it. I was just curious about how to get it done. Tails is meant to be easy, and this is obviously hard.

Boot back into tails and setup persistent storage as you normally would.

Exit UEFI shell and now your tails bootloader changes are permanent.

Launch an EFI shell and edit fs0:\efi\boot\live64.cfg to remove live-media=removable.

Boot the VM fresh and spam ESC to get into the EFI boot menu.

(a) Start tails but pay close attention for the Tails Bootloader Menu.

Boot your Mac VM but remove live-media=removable as described below.

Edit to make it a PIX3 instead of ICH9 system.
